For recruiters
Candidates don't open email. They answer texts.
So every recruiter ends up running their desk out of Messages on their phone — and the ATS never sees a word of it. autoMessage syncs those conversations from the number candidates already have for you, so the relationship stops being trapped in one handset.

The relationship outlives the req
Recruiting is the industry where this hurts most, because the conversations are long-lived in a way most sales threads aren't. A candidate you placed three years ago texts you about a new role. A passive candidate says "not now, maybe in six months" and you need that exchange when six months arrives.
- Your book of business is in your phone. Which is great for you and a problem for the firm — and a problem for you the day the phone is lost.
- Coordinators are locked out. Scheduling an interview means forwarding screenshots or reading texts aloud.
- Placement attribution breaks. The candidate came from the ATS, the conversation that closed them happened on a phone, and nothing joins the two.
- Nothing is searchable. "Did I already reach out to this person?" is a question your ATS cannot answer.
Why not a texting platform?
Because they hand you a number the candidate has never seen. A cold text from an unknown number is the one most likely to be ignored or reported — and for a candidate you placed years ago, it throws away the single biggest advantage you have, which is that they recognise you.
The number in their phone is the relationship.
Hosted platforms send from an Apple ID in their rack. autoMessage sends from the line you have always used, into the thread that is already there.
Let AI do the follow-up, not the relationship
autoMessage ships an MCP server, so Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT can read a thread with full context and draft the next message in your voice. The useful part in recruiting is the boring part: chasing availability, confirming a time, nudging a candidate who went quiet after an onsite.
You can run it read-only, where the send tools are not just refused but not exposed at all — so an agent can summarise and suggest, and cannot message a candidate on its own.
Common questions
- Do I need a separate work number?
- No. autoMessage runs on your own Apple ID and the number candidates already have for you. That matters more in recruiting than most industries, because a candidate you placed three years ago still texts the number in their phone — not whatever line your agency stood up last quarter.
- Can my team see candidate threads without my phone?
- Yes. Conversations sync to a dashboard and through the REST API and webhooks into your ATS or CRM, so a coordinator can see where a candidate stands and follow up without you forwarding screenshots.
- What happens to the relationships if a recruiter leaves?
- The conversation history is in your systems rather than only in their handset. Today that is because every message syncs to your account; the thread on their personal device still belongs to them, so for a clean handover you want the sync running from the start, not after someone resigns.
- Can AI draft the follow-ups?
- Yes. autoMessage ships an MCP server, so Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or any MCP client can read a thread and draft a reply in your voice. You can run it read-only so an agent can summarise and suggest but never send on its own.
- What about candidates on Android?
- They work, with one setup step: switch on Text Message Forwarding on your iPhone for that Mac. Without it, SMS replies from Android numbers reach your phone but never reach your Mac, so they will not sync.
- How many candidates can I reach in a day?
- You set the limit in Settings and can change it whenever. It starts at 50 new conversations in a rolling 24 hours, and anything over it is queued rather than rejected. Messages are also paced like a person types rather than fired in a burst.
